Lol, if Gunnar couldn’t beat out Terry Wilson, how can he expect to beat out Justin Fields? pic.twitter.com/vhSljNuBZF

Gunnar Hoak is coming with the program expected to give him the same chance to compete for the starting job that Matthew Baldwin was going to have. Justin Fields is the favorite, without a doubt. But Hoak is an experienced kid with a nice arm -- and was a huge priority for Day.

Hoak will compete with Justin Fields for the starting job at Ohio State - and while many will believe Fields is the clear-cut favorite - Hoak will step into a competition.
-
I've learned that Gunner Hoak, the former Kentucky QB from Dublin, will be transferring to Ohio State. The expectation is that he will compete with Justin Fields for the starting job and not just be an extra roster arm, though Fields is obviously the front-runner.

See why, Justin Fields made the right move

Any fans of Netflix' QB1? From this season's featured Justin Fields We've added Harrison HS, GA head coach Matt Dickman to the
#OnlineClinic lineup! He's set to do 3 presentations on the Hoyas offense. Our lineup is awesome and we continue to add to it: https://clinic.chiefpigskin.com/schedule/ pic.twitter.com/C791kdpEWm

So, hold on a second.. Justin Fields gets a waiver because Jake Fromm is better than him. And Tate Martel gets one too because Justin Fields is better than him. But Luke Ford wants to come home to play in front of his dying grandpa and he gets his waiver denied
#FreeLukeFordहा थ्रेड दाखवा -
Luke Ford tweets that his transfer waiver has been denied, meaning he has to sit out this season. It comes after the NCAA granted Tate Martell and Justin Fields immediate eligibility despite their transfer to Miami and Ohio State...does anything surprise you from the NCAA?
-
The fact that Tate Martell and Justin Fields will be playing somewhere next year while Luke Ford won’t be allowed is disgusting. Hope you’re real proud of yourselves

Justin Fields - Didn’t win job. Transferred. Granted eligibility. Tate Martell - Didn’t win job. Transferred. Granted eligibility. Brock Hoffman - Mother has brain surgery. Transferred. Denied eligibility. Luke Ford - Grandfather is sick. Transferred. Denied eligibility. https://twitter.com/lukeredx97/status/1121150023935328256 …

Notable offseason transfer waiver requests: Justin Fields (playing time)
Tathan Martell (playing time)
Brock Hoffman (family reason)
Luke Ford (family reason)
The NCAA is wack. https://twitter.com/lukeredx97/status/1121150023935328256 … -
But if you need a waiver because you couldn't earn the starting job (Tate Martell and Justin Fields), your coach is fired (Shea Patterson), or a coach takes a another job at a different school or the NFL (Bru McCoy) the NCAA will clear you. https://twitter.com/barstoolsports/status/1121062489318416386 …

This is ridiculous. The
@NCAA granted California native Tate Martell immediate eligibility at Miami because he didn't want to compete with Justin Fields, who did the same thing because of Jake Fromm. This poor guy wants to shave an hour of his drive time home and was rejected. https://twitter.com/BrockHoffman76/status/1120817980517113856 …
-
The
@ncaa is PATHETIC. Tate Martell and Justin Fields can be ruled immediately eligible but Brock Hoffman can't?! https://twitter.com/BrockHoffman76/status/1120817980517113856 …
-
Brock Hoffman went from being 3.5 hours away from home to 2 hours away to be closer to his family (He also earned the chance to play at a higher level after being a 2-year starter). Tate Martell and Justin Fields both went farther away in search of playing time
#FactsOnly -
Justin fields: “I don’t want to compete for the starting job” NCAA: transfer waiver accepted immediate eligibility granted Brock Hoffman: “my mother has a brain tumor and I want to be close to home for her.” NCAA: transfer waiver denied, no further comment. https://twitter.com/evangwatkins247/status/1120839035952484352 …

NCAA won’t grant this kid a waiver but Justin Fields and Tate Martell and seemingly everyone else who asks gets to play. Every time you think they can’t get more senseless, they prove you wrong. https://twitter.com/BrockHoffman76/status/1120817980517113856 …

Would love to see
@HokiesFB or a#Hokies fan sue the NCAA. This is clearly within the definition for a hardship waiver. Shameful that Brock Hoffman can't get one yet Tate Martell and Justin Fields can. Terrible@NCAAhttps://twitter.com/BrockHoffman76/status/1120817980517113856 …

It’s because his name isn’t Justin Fields or Tate Martell and he isn’t trying to go to an Ohio State or Miami. https://twitter.com/NCAAFNation247/status/1120818739228942336 …
