  1. FG senator Catherine Noone said that Leo Varadkar is “autistic”. She said she didn’t mean the word literally. She then attempted to give examples of other potentially offensive words that could be used out of context, such as “special” and “n****r”.

Not as bad as Varadkar's face when his attitude to the man injured at the canal was brought up. They should have asked why he was still endorsing Catherine Noone. Who uses the n word.

Why hasn't her use of the n word got more attention?

  4. Leo Varadkar: ok the election is close. Make sure you don't say the n word or something lmao Catherine Noone's brain:

Are you serious!? How many days since Catherine Noone insulted an entire community, then tried to explain it away using the N word?! That's before we mention Verona Murphy!! Or do you not see anything wrong with what they did? Insulting minorities not a big deal to FG huh?

You said I can't define what hate speech is but what hate speech is is all those slurs not only for race but disability like what Catherine Noone did with the Autistic comment I gave an example Not necessarily saying you say the N word

Indeed. And when that person just happens to be the brother of that 'Master of Disaster', Simon Harris (), (Catherine Noone's party), one really is left wondering. I'd like to hear from other, independent voices on the issue... also on the use of the 'N' word by said Senator.

Senator Catherine Noone of used the 'N' word and slagged off her boss (at the expense of people with autism), and you're spouting this gubbage? Have you no pride in your profession, man?

Hugh is this a " Lets not talk about Sen Catherine Noone and the N word " story ? It does sound a little like it.

  10. Another day another FG gaffe, this time Catherine Noone trying not to be offensive whilst casually saying the N word

Did catherine noone say the n word uncensored while trying to apologise for calling varadkar autistic? Or did i read that wrong??

  12. 28. sij

Catherine Noone’s comments where horrid, but many things need to be answered by her like • At what stage would using the n word with a hard r be taken out of context? • Would she have accused the journalist of lying if said journalist had not recorded her comments?

  13. 28. sij

Fine Gael think it's worse for a member to donate a 100 euro to their own father than it is for a sitting senator to use the N word and suggest autistic people have no empathy. Varadker has confirmed he will canvass for Catherine Noone You couldn't write this stuff

  14. 28. sij

I wonder will any one of these 30 groups issue a statement criticising Fine Gael candidate Catherine Noone for casually using the wordn****r’ when speaking to a journalist.

  15. Catherine Noone FG candidate calls Leo Autistic then drops the N word in follow up comments. This just happened, I can't believe this just happened.

Whoa right where. ‘The Mob’ as you call them, include many who object to autism being described as ‘an illness’, used in the same sentence as the N word and then passed I’d as a slur. Whatever her intention, as a paid public servant out looking for votes, her words are despicable

  17. Catherine Noone said: "I would never use that (N) word"... despite using it to Ben Haugh on the phone when she was given the opportunity to clarify her remarks.

"Autistic" is not an insult, and not a term to be thrown around lightly. And there is absolutely no justification for the use of the N word. I don't care what apology comes from this, nobody who speaks like this deserves to be in public office. Catherine Noone should be ashamed.

  19. 28. sij

Having abused those with autism, denying it & then explaining she meant it as a slur & subsequently reached straight for the N word, Ms Catherine Noone should renounce her candidacy. Truly awful behaviour that can’t be solved with a meaningless apology for getting caught.

  20. Catherine Noone has now apologised for the language she used, describing it as 'inexcusable and wrong'. She is withdrawing "all" of her remarks, presumably including her use of the word 'n***er'...
