    My Juno Participating Scientist Proposal was selected!!!! I'm joining ! I'll be using a combination of theoretical models and Juno data to figure out how the wacky geology of Io, Europa, an Ganymede "contaminate" gravity data. (1/6)

    A figure from my proposal, showing two models of Europa: one without geology (left), and one with geology (right). Geology really can complicate planetary gravity fields and their interpretation, and my selected proposal is all about teasing out that information.

    Today marks the 50th anniversary of Mariner 9 becoming the first spacecraft to orbit another planet! During its mission, the spacecraft mapped out 85% of Mars' surface, collected data on the composition of the atmosphere, and sent back over 7,000 photos.
