Could a bill like AB 5 in CA ever happen in Nevada? I am so terrified at the thought tbh. How are California models on SM fairing right now?

California's
#AB5 is one of the worst job killers in the state's history - and that is saying something While cheered by union leaders, gig economy workers pay the price So job one for CA's legislature should be to repeal it & restore the freedom to work https://www.sacbee.com/opinion/california-forum/article239316738.html …Show this thread -

Wow. Not one of the smartest business leaders in
#Sandiego thinks#AB5 is any good. NOT. ONE. What does that tell you@LorenaSGonzalez? "At a minimum, it should be modified, with the best choice being to repeal it entirely."#RepealAB5 https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/economy/story/2020-01-31/econometer-should-legislators-consider-modifying-californias-labor-bill-ab-5?fbclid=IwAR2YHs8PX-ho7sRcLv3VW6u914fFVUM-f96uDVPNK7aiNYSnNybAO0t1qLI …Show this thread -
This is why unions are supporting legislation like California's AB-5 that is hammering freelancers -- not to protect people, but to protect unions. https://twitter.com/IWF/status/1223046243225440258 …

Should the government decide how many stories a freelance journalist can write? Of course not. But a California law known as Assembly Bill 5 that went into effect earlier this month does exactly that and more.

"AB 5 should never have seen the light of day," writes
@lee_ohanian. "The policy making vision of freedom, opportunity, and public investments that once made California so great is gone. But it is not too late to bring it back." https://hvr.co/2O8zkgz -
Sending support to fellow writers (and other professions) in California impacted by this absolutely ridiculous AB 5 law. You know it is a horrendous law when it unites everyone left-to-right across the political spectrum. Yet again an example of "we know what is best for you." https://twitter.com/FOX40/status/1222521282736148480 …

California Labor says the PRO Act is very different than AB5 "It's very different from AB 5 in that it's broad-based labor law reform that encourages workers having a collective voice in a number of ways (including but not limited to the ABC test)." ~ KP

I'm 58 & never political until 3 weeks ago b/c of
#AB5. I'm incorporated so I'm (mostly) safe but this is SO unfair especially to creative professionals in California. We need bigger voices like@ScottAdamsSays to weigh in. I was on TV talking about it:http://bit.ly/fixab5creatives
