Just really needed a drink, so made a tweaked Sidecar with three things i want to get rid of - 2℥ Rêverie VS cognac, ½℥ past-it St Germain, ½℥ ginger wine, ⅓℥ lemon juice. The ginger wine is pretty rough, but the St Germain still overpowers it. Drinkable! #CocktailTuesday

Two can play that game! #CocktailTuesday continues with a disciplined Bobby Burns: 2℥ Sainsbury's highland single malt, 1℥ Yzaguirre reserva sweet vermouth, ½℥ Bénédictine. Showcases that burning bronze sphere of toffee orange that lurks in every sweet vermouth.

Following a different recipe, 2℥ Drumshanbo gin, ½℥ kirsch, ½℥ Bénédictine, ⅓℥ lemon juice, 1♏︎ Angostura, 1♏︎ orange bitters. Drier, still pretty good. #CocktailTuesday

Quick #CocktailTuesday stiffener before shopping: 3℥ Sainsbury's highland single malt, 1℥ triple sec, ⅓℥ lemon juice. Marvellous. Very much the right kind of whisky to work in this structure. Whatever is wrong with you, this either will or will not cure it, no half measures.

On #cocktailtuesday i am attempting to take a vieux carré in a smoky marmalade direction - 1℥ Laphroaig Cairdeas 2014, 1℥ Buffalo Trace, 1℥ Antica Formula, ½℥ Glayva. The right level of smoke, but not enough of the Antica's bitter citrus. Still a pleasure to drink, though!

Trying to develop the feelgood hit of the summer this #CocktailTuesday. 2℥ Drumshanbo gin, ½℥ Stellacello, ½℥ Magnum tonic wine, ⅓℥ lemon juice probably isn't it, sadly. Does tame the Magnum, though, first time I've managed that.

Trying to come up with a rum and blood orange combo for #CocktailTuesday: 2℥ Doorly's 12yo, 1℥ amaretto, ½℥ blood orange juice, doesn't really work, not sure why not.

Skipped dinner on #CocktailTuesday (ate some cheese earlier) to make time a kind of Broadmoor: 2℥ Sainsbury's highland single malt, ½℥ green Chartreuse, ½℥ triple sec, 2♏︎ orange bitters. Herbal, but has that big ball of hard-to-place flavour that interesting cocktails have.

Was thinking about Old Tom earlier, so it made it into #CocktailTuesday: 3℥ Sacred Old Tom, 1℥ Lillet Blanc, ½℥ Bénédictine, ⅓℥ lemon juice. A distinct sting from something in the Old Tom, and a flavour that suggests nuts. I like it, but it's definitely a bit interesting.

Taking @neville659's advice this #CocktailTuesday: having a Singapore Sling, except it's a Straits Sling, and i didn't add soda water, because why would you. 2℥ Drumshanbo gin, ½℥ cherry brandy, ½℥ Bénédictine, ⅓℥ lemon juice, 1♏︎ Angostura, 1♏︎ orange bitters. Decent!
