#CocktailFriday. Cognac. Antica Formula. Crème de Cacao. Orange bitters. Can't be bothered with the funny squiggles. Work out the proportions yourself.Show this thread -
After that, another go at a Ryanesque mix on
#CocktailFriday: 2℥ Drumshanbo gin, 1℥ Lillet Blanc, ½℥ Glayva, 1♏︎ Abbott's bitters; not awful, but at all right, maybe it's the mixture of fruity and medicinal?Show this thread -
Surprise
#CocktailFriday: an approximate Jaguar, being 1½℥ tsipouro, ¾℥ green Chartreuse, ¾℥ Ramazotti amaro, 3♏︎ (well, generous shake) orange bitters. Strange and bracing panoply of flavours; smoke, tar, citrus peel, pine resin, and bitter af. https://www.davidlebovitz.com/the-jaguar-cocktail-chartreuse-tequila-amer-picon-recipe/ … -
Crudely reconstructing a formula from a 1920's bottle of Lillet this
#CocktailFriday: 2℥ Tanqueray Ten, 1℥ Lillet Blanc, ½℥ nocino, 1♏︎ orange bitters. Not terribly nice, if i'm honest. https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/42838/lillet-bot1920s …Show this thread -
Earlier on
#CocktailFriday ... Make a White Lady with St German and that's an Elderly White Lady. Make that with Old Tom gin and that's an Old Tomboy. 3:1:1/3 gin:liqueur:lemon if you're sensible, as usual. Both pretty good!Show this thread -
#CocktailFriday intensifies: 3℥ Mount Gay Eclipse, 1℥ Glayva, 1♏︎ Own Decanter bitters. Quite nice, interestingly spicy, but doesn't make the most of the rum, perhaps?Show this thread -
Drawful plus
#CocktailFriday: 3℥ Mount Gay Eclipse, 1℥ Chartreuse MOF, 2♏︎ Elemakule Tiki bitters. Pretty good!Show this thread -
Cargo cult Bolero for
#CocktailFriday: 1℥ Worthy Park Reserve, 1℥ Martell VSOP, ¾℥ lime juice (whole half a lime), ½℥ triple sec. Bit amazed you can find anything through the lime, but i don't have tiki-trained tastebuds. -
A quarter of a grand's worth of
#CocktailFriday ingredients turned up today, so i am throwing together shit at random: 2℥ Cockspur Old Gold, 1℥ Green Chartreuse, ⅓℥ lime juice. Kind of a Daisy de Santiago, or a Chartreuse Daiquiri. Very herbal. More so than with Bénédictine.Show this thread -
#CocktailFriday goes where no soak has gone before: 3℥ Old Simon, ½℥ green Chartreuse, ½℥ triple sec, ½℥ lime cordial. Actually rather nice, but a bit sweet, needs more bite. -
For George on
#CocktailFriday, put together 1℥ ginger wine, 4℥ Smirnoff Ice, 3♏︎ Elemakule Tiki bitters, and he quite likes that. Those bitters are very different, but good all round. -
Refining
#CocktailFriday with 2℥ Rutte Old Simon, 1℥ Cinzano Bianco (CLASSY), ½℥ Bénédictine, 1♏︎ Mr Lee's bitters. Rather nice, well rounded, the maltiness of the genever comes through. I want it to be more citrusy, or more punchy somehow. Suze? -
Can't lock down
#CocktailFriday, where with sanity fast deserting us we mix 2℥ White Rhino new make rye, 1℥ Lillet blanc, ½℥ Glayva, and 2♏︎ Sainsbury's aromatic bitters. I love the combination of white vermouth and smoky spirit, here it's chalky and mineral here.Show this thread -
First
#CocktailFriday in a while: 2℥ Rutte Old Simon, 1℥ Yzaguirre Reserva red, ½℥ Bénédictine, 2♏︎ Mr Lee's bitters; aiming at a gin Vieux Carré, basically tastes of vermouth, so not at all unpleasant, but a bit pointless. -
Completely forgot i'd bought a bottle of Victory Bitter!
#CocktailFriday serendipits a Boulevardier: 2℥ Buffalo Trace, 1℥ Victory Bitter, 1℥ Yzaguirre Reserva red. Less bitter than usual, but really very herbal and savoury. Struggling. -
Another spin of the
#CocktailFriday wheel: 3℥ Martell Red Barrel, 2℥ crème de cacao, 1℥ blood orange juice, 2♏︎ Elemakule Tiki bitters. I really like this. Definitely sweet, but not cloying. Not noticeably chocolately, though. Blood orange and spice go really well together. -
Trying to keep ginger rolling this
#CocktailFriday: 3℥ Martell VSOP, ½℥ King's Ginger, ⅓℥ lemon juice, which sadly is grim. -
Still pursuing this idea on
#CocktailFriday: 2℥ Rutte Old Simon, 1℥ Cinzano Bianco, ½℥ fleur de couscouille, 1♏︎ Mr Lee's bitters. Bit odd. -
On
#CocktailFriday i give you the Electric Sidecar: 2℥ Révérie VS cognac, ⅔℥ Stellacello, ⅓℥ Suze, ⅓℥ lemon juice. I used crap cognac because i thought it might be grim, but actually, the Suze is subdued, but contributes a bitter tickle after the complex citrusy slap. -
It's
#CocktailFriday! Inspired by@rnalexander's use of chocolate spirit, mixed 2℥ Martell Red Barrel, 1℥ crème de cacao, ½℥ Yzaguirre Reserva red, 1♏︎ Sainsbury's aromatic bitters. Nice, but too sweet. Think Ryan's stuff is not sweet, which makes it much more practical.
