    I went out on my bicicleta 🚴 and saw una paloma 🐦 , un pato 🦆 dormido 💤 and muchos cuervos (no crow emoji!) I also vi 👁 un gorrión (a sparrow) but the photo isn’t very good! Sometimes there’s una garza (a heron) but not today

    Can you see the diamantes ♦️ on the piedra 🪨 and also on the caballo 🐴 (look at the marking on the shoulder)? And hay mucho rectángulos ➖ on el puente bridge🌉

    No problem! Just sorry I didn’t find out until after we‘d started half term. Tweeting and putting it on the website in the meantime but will be encouraging all my classes personally once we‘re back! [Currently struggling to find a cloud 😉 ]

    This made me think of one of my favourite books I read whilst studying Catalan at - La Plaça del Diamant as the protagonist is called ‘La Colometa’

    Dos palomas 🇪🇸 Deux pigeons 🇫🇷 Zwei Tauben 🇩🇪 Dos coloms (Catalan) And did you know that pigeon in 🇭🇷 is golub and in 🇨🇿 it’s holub.

    I’ve ‘captured’ a robin. He’s very shy! I like how the word for Robin in some languages translates as redbreast/chest e.g. Catalan - pit-roig Italian - pettirosso Dutch - roodborstje Hungarian - vorosbegy Estonian/Finnish - punarind/punarinta

    The NCELP contract with DfE is another issue - they have just been awarded more £ with a new commission for KS4 but I don't believe the contract was open to tender.
