    Finally got round to a bit of an office spring-clean today and came across this memorial scroll, the final words of which I find incredibly powerful. A heartfelt plea from the last century, and a great reminder to many historians of why we do what we do.

    Work has started re-chalking the Map of Australia today. We have quite a lot of work to do! The Map was created by Australian soldiers during whilst staying at Hurdcott Camp in the fields below. The views today are almost exactly the same as they were over 100 years ago.

    Flying over Australia... A chalk badge cut into a Wiltshire hillside by Australian soldiers in 1917. Our work to look after this unique and special feature continues. We plan to be up there again before Anzac Day, to make sure it looks its best.

    Feuchy British Cemetery, 5km east of Arras, photographed last month. The cemetery was created by 12th Division in April 1917 and used until the following March. Former Newcastle United footballer Richard McGough is buried in Plot I.

    Tragically young 17 year old Dorothy Prince Brown died in Mar 1918 while making sea mines in Langwith . To prevent this being another forgotten death, her parents put this picture in the Imperial War Museum.

    Our first passengers on the Western Front in two years, Doug and Julie, were asked to unveil the new Australian memorial in the Ypres Salient! Called ‘Brothers in Arms’, it depicts two Australian brothers saying goodbye as one dies of wounds. What a special moment.

    Two very different cemeteries in Nantes, Fr. At bottom, graves of soldiers who died in hospitals here in 1914. On top, graves of airmen killed in operations A 🇳🇱 soldier even lies here, as he served under RAF command. I paid my respect to all these heroes.
