    A few times this week I’ve heard/seen so-called “objective” journalists use the phrase “bent over backwards” to describe the current federal government’s engagement w/ communities. It’s a loaded, paternalistic term that reveals much about the speaker’s assumptions.

    Had the kids chanting I AM SOMEBODY and I AM A GENIUS and and brought them on stage to dance. A lot of these kids, don’t get to go back to a regular childhood. Trauma is rampant in their community. Blessed to have an opportunity to the future
