Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert doesn’t seem to understand that background checks stop criminals from getting guns. Given her long arrest record - including for domestic abuse against her spouse - perhaps she’s worried she’ll be a prohibited purchaser one day.

@laurenboebert: You told us guns make us safer. If 400,000,000 guns in the hands of civilians wasn’t enough to prevent our nation’s “historic highs in murder and gun violence,” how many more guns will it take?#coleg https://twitter.com/laurenboebert/status/1369687126967808003 … -
Colorado law doesn’t require locking devices to accompany the sale of a gun, nor does it require gun owners to lock their weapons. Firearms are the second leading cause of death among Colorado children/teens; 63% of these deaths are suicides.

A Colorado man accused of fatally shooting Isabella Thallas, 21, last summer with an AK-47 because her dog went to the bathroom in front of his apartment has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. His trial is set for September.

Excited to bring my bill to its first committee hearing today. Veterans are over-represented in CO’s unhoused population. Accessing care shouldn’t depend on where you live.

Nope. A trial court ruled that a Boulder ordinance prohibiting assault weapons and large-capacity magazines was preempted by state law. This was not a
#2A or constitutional case. Boulder could appeal and the case would be decided by the Colorado Supreme Court.#coleg https://twitter.com/nra/status/1370584334168694785 …Show this thread -
Today, SB21-71 goes to hearing in front of the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee. It will help end cash bail for youth! Many states have already prohibited cash bail

The Colorado Legislature doesn’t have the Constitutional authority to question how people keep and bear arms within their homes for self defense.

Every Coloradan should have the right to collectively bargain and fight for better pay and benefits. Political work should be accessible to everyone and I'm proud of our hardworking aides for making their voices heard through the power of a union.

We're one step closer to bringing equitable education funding to CO students!
Our kids deserve fair K-12 funding and HB1164 has been years in the making. I'm thrilled to finally have the opportunity to run this bill with my good friend, Speaker @AlecGarnett.#copolitics#coleg pic.twitter.com/cNpBmUGRLI -
Left here at 10:30pm last night and was back at 6:30am this morning. Session is getting busy and even with the lack of sleep, I continue to be so grateful to do this work for the state we love.

When I was a
#coleg aide I made a little over $7 an hour. I spent 2 hours of my wages on the RTD bus every day, too. There was nothing valiant about that and I didn’t learn a special lesson by having three jobs to barely scrape by while trying to get my career started.#paypeoplehttps://twitter.com/AndyKnny/status/1369309648034000897 … -
BREAKING: Republicans are arguing that government should stay out of people’s homes, nightstands and closets. No, they aren’t arguing for LGBTQ equality, instead they are arguing against a bill that requires folx to store their guns safely
You can’t make this stuff up. #coleg -

We in CO and across the nation are LUCKY to have such a competent and active National Guard. They deploy to combat threats abroad alongside active duty service members, they manned COVID-19 testing sites, built hospital capacity, help mitigate our wildfires.. Thank you.
