    This is the America I want to live in—where we stand up and protect each other from harassment and discrimination. I don’t care if we’re the same race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, if I see somebody harassing or hurting you, I will step up and step in.

  9. i don’t know if this is related to this topic but maybe one of the main reasons i’m lesbian is because growing up with a father and brothers taught me physical abuse way too young. Now i can’t even look a man in the eye without having some level of fear.

    I was walking home and had a guy follow me for 2 blocks in his Range Rover. He LITERALLY drove ONTO the sidewalk 3 TIMES to block me & get my attention. But I kept ignoring him hoping he would stop. I detoured into a store because I don’t want him knowing where I live.

    Just had to intervene between a girl and a random bloke trying to steal her cigarette, he was shouting in her face calling her a slag, she looked like she was about to cry. Loads of other people stood around pretending not to notice 😒

    When I am too afraid to speak to the aggressor, I ask women which I learnt from following . It pauses the situation. The last time I asked, the women used the pause to walk away & the man did not follow her because he was now aware of being watched.
