Today, on the 3rd anniversary of the Hon. Supreme Court's verdict on #Sec377, the rainbow flag was hoisted in Congress Bhavan, Pune. A historic day! The first time any Indian political party has raised the rainbow flag, a symbol of the struggle of the #LGBTQIA+ community. šŸ‡®šŸ‡³šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

Queer folx have always protested against unjust laws that target entire communities, whether they be #Sec377, the #CAA or #AFSPA. When we recognise the links between these laws, our yearning for freedom becomes even more fabulous. This is me protesting AFSPA in Delhi, 2014. āœŠšŸ¾

Incredible. The first #MumbaiPride (after reading down #Sec377) witnessed a massive turnout of over 15000 shiny happy people! The city of Mumbai welcomed us with smiles, curiosity & cameras--as if to say that the LGBTQ is now a significant part of civil society. Happy pridešŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆšŸ’—

It’s been an arduous path for the #LGBTQ community from the beginning of time to present day. Proud to see & mark the 3rd anniversary of the Supreme Court's #Sec377 verdict, raising the šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ flag, followed by a ration distribution to the needy of the communityšŸ™šŸ»
