    My first Protest rally was when I nicked of High School for the day to attend an anti-Vietnam rally @ Sydney Town Hall. My second was 4 years ago at a rally in Melbourne. Been to many more since then. I'm getting angrier as I get older...

  3. “Breaking the rules for one family is unfair to everybody else”. True, but we see rules regularly broken & for less reason. MPs expenses, visas for au pairs etc. This issue isn’t about our gullibility, it’s about a lack of consistency & care.

  5. Joined the protesters today out the front of the Federal Court in Melbourne. Have heard since that the case for the Tamil refugees will go to a full hearing, very sad they will be held on Christmas Island in the meantime.

  10. The absurdity of this only surpassed by its cruelty. 80 refugees locked up in this hotel, Kangaroo Point inner Brisbane. Some for more than a year. Look closely you can see the people locked in behind the bared windows. cost? 20000 day?

  12. What are we doing tomorrow ? Amid rumours and drug tests and cashless cards (all distractions), let's not forget to call local MP, Morrison and Dutton offices in support of bringing Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa . They must !

  13. Lorraine knows Nades and Priya. She knows their little girls. They call her grandma. As she said today, “They were our friends.” I’d challenge Scott Morrison or Peter Dutton to come to Biloela and tell Lorraine why this family doesn’t deserve our compassion.

  20. I am realising how much we alter our language to help our government justify the treatment of people seeking asylum. So from now on I will not be using the terms "detention" or detention centre" I will be referring to it as imprisonment and prison.
