    hidden in the harvest – at least 6 young marsh harriers have successfully fledged their nests following a CABS project in the Rhineland. We found 4 nests and due to early harvesting with farmers support, we ring-fenced them until the birds took to the skies!

    I knew them both well! The nearest I came to such an endeavour was an ill-fated trip out one night after school circa 1974, to try find 'field-deployed' at RAF Syerston! Never did find them - well hidden everyone!! 😂

    Back in the early 1970s these 2 members cycled from to & back; to ‘bag’ a photo opportunity in a ‘T-Bird’; such was the interest in the innovative Photo credit: via J Creasey

    Grouse moors are like black holes for so many harriers, once they are there they never emerge. Only full, open and effective regulation will sort this problem.

    RSPB Scotland is appealing for information following the suspicious disappearance of four satellite tagged hen harriers over the last 10 weeks
