Anthony Veasna So's Afterparties explores what it means to be Cambodian. Through a collection of short stories, So reclaims the complexity of words like “diaspora” and “refugee” and “survivor.”and shows us how we can only know ourselves through our community.

Update: down to 8 books! Finished off “Afterparties” by Anthony Veasna So. This book was made up of a collection of short stories that reflect generational trauma through the lens of Cambodian-Americans in California. Good read—3stars from me!

this is how you lose the time war is a fun enemies to lovers piece (bit experimental but if you just go with the vibe it's gorgeous) if you don’t mind short stories ‘after parties’ by anthony veasna so is an interesting posthumous work.
