“Organizations want these #clouds, apps, platforms and services to work together seamlessly. They want #multicloud by design, not by default.” Great quote from for . Using the tools you need, when you need them should be table stakes:

Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) are an important part of #platformengineering, but what an IDP is/does remains fuzzy. Hats off to the team for making the lines a bit less blurry by publishing their great work on IDP mapping! hubs.li/Q01r1lxC0

We share a lot of research, but we have some #cloud research of our own! We’ve spoken to hundreds of #developers about their infrastructure, uncovering insights that capture the day-to-day challenges of #cloudcomputing. Read them here:

“…too many organizations [put] #Kubernetes at the top of their compute decision matrix." An interesting analysis from about #cloudcomputing decision making. There are many roads to Rome, but it doesn't hurt to look at a map.

Is this an instance of simultaneous invention in a time of dire need? Or is it all just #PlatformEngineering by any other name? See 's #HypeCycle report below. (5/5)

The goal of #PlatformEngineering and industry cloud platforms is the same: tailoring existing solutions to meet business needs. Whether through process or product (or a combination of the two) the outcome is the same — #CloudComputing services that work on a business level. (4/5)

The separation of #PlatformEngineering” from “industry cloud platform” (and the inclusion of both on the list) speaks to the complexity of consuming #cloud resources and the various ways organizations are coping in realtime. (3/5)

As #CDN adoption expands, so do the boundaries of what a CDN can do. Back in April, we took a look at the evolution of CDNs and made some big predictions about the future of #fullstack Delivery Networks. So far, those predictions have held. #edgecomputing

“Superclouds,” global control planes, and #platformengineering all speak to the same pain. More on superclouds from here: blocksandfiles.com/2022/10/07/sto (5/5)

Managing compliance across dozens of tools & hundreds of jurisdictions, or expecting devs to cultivate constant vigilance, is not feasible. Control mechanisms for #datasovereignty should be managed on an organizational level with abstracted “#supercloud”-style solutions. (4/5)

Beyond the usual operational need to minimize toil, avoid tooling sprawl, and streamline deployments, a global control plane is necessary in a global economy. So long as users from other regions can access your apps, there is a need to manage #DataPrivacy. (3/5)

Instead of operating within the #cloud layer (making it easier to connect disparate services) developers need a control plane above that layer to avoid the weeds entirely. Tooling can make managing infrastructure easier, but avoiding complexity altogether is even better. (2/5)
