    I really hadn't thought about the potential for alt text to be "another way to abuse people on Twitter."

    Honest answer: Originally, our biggest concern was user education. Not everyone knows how to write decent alt text. Then we were worried about how it could be used as another way to abuse people on Twitter since its un-checked & un-reportable.

    Captioning theme music is hard, but I'm still disappointed by (theme music playing). The theme for Curb is perhaps the "most iconic TV show theme song of the 2000s," long ago elevated to meme status, and definitely more than a generic "theme," no?

    (lively gusli strumming) sent me to Wikipedia to be honest. But now I say: of course the "oldest East Slavic multi-string plucked instrument" should be featured as the very first caption in a TV comedy about vampires ("What we do in the Shadows" S1E1).

    when a caption from one ad lingers on the screen as the next ad or program begins, ironic associations multiply! My fav example: when a caption for a Celebrex ad wanders into the landscape of The Walking Dead.

    I like having closed captioning on to watch commercials bleed together: “Brush to a whiter smile, drop 20lbs fast, expect a home invasion be prepared.”
