This is my last tweet for a while. Maybe I will come back, but I'm not going to use it for any more.

Republicans to hold #VA04 Congressional District Party Canvass on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Life Christian Academy from 10am to 3pm. The press release announcing the canvas also criticizes Democrats for an "exclusionary process" they call an "indisputable form of voter suppression"

So far I've published six newsletters this week. Now I have to write a freelance piece while simultaneously writing one for myself.
Grateful for supporters for paying me to keep the work up!

"I think we're in it for the long haul," says as the pre-meeting is set to begin for a crowded Charlottesville Planning Commission meeting.
Here's my write-up of what to expect:

I would take a picture of me recording this meeting that I am listening to, but I'm using my phone to record the Albemarle Economic Development Authority meeting.
There is no recording of the meeting happening at the moment, though I had planned to do so!

There are a bunch of stories posted to the Information Charlottesville archive. More to be added as the day continues.
Two of the localities will have items on their Parks and Creation Master plan updates.
The one in Lynchburg looks quite thorough.

Today's newsletter previews meetings tomorrow in:
* Buckingham County
* Cumberland County
* Goochland County
* City of Lynchburg
* Prince Edward County.

The meeting page for the Lynchburg City Council just shifted to a kind that does not allow you to link to the agenda directly. You have to be signed in to do so.

Unless I'm missing something?
Somehow my work day has ended with watching a Mir. Bungle live show. I've not listened to Mr. Bungle for probably 15 years? Yet, here I am, about to listen as I move into post-work day, which begins with more work.
Newsletter today:

The first of two newsletters for today is posted.
Learn what's on the agendas of Board of Supervisors' meetings in Bedford, Buckingham, and Charlotte counties, as well as an information roundup:

Eight percent of school-age children in Bedford County are home-schooled. This comes from the minutes of the October 24, 2022 joint Supervisor-School Board meeting.

I've begun work on the next set of Fifth District newsletters. This may be the last big week of the year before everything shuts down.
In any case, here's a chart of the population of Bedford County over time.

I published eight newsletters this week. I grow more efficient each week.
Pay me if you want, or don't.
I'm going to do the work anyway and find out a way to cover my bills. I'll tell people how they can pay, but I will never beg you or punch down on other journalists.

A lot of things seem to have happened on August 4, 2022.
It's annoying to have search routines deliver results with timestamps with things I know for a fact didn't happen on the date.
Because I likely wrote the story in the first place.
All in a day's complaint.
Currently recording Board of Visitors and Regional Transit Partnership while processing yesterday's Albemarle Supervisors meeting while also searching through land records. All will show up in future newsletters and podcasts.
All in a day's work.

I so enjoy doing this work, and adding more articles I have to write each work.
All paid for by customers, subscribers, sponsors, and people who want more coverage of what's happening across the part of Virginia where I live.

Third installment of the newsletter for the week:

* Lunenburg Supervisors meet later today
* Who currently occupies Supervisor seats up for elections in Cumberland, Goochland, and Halifax counties?
* UVA panel to get look at $75M Olympic sports center

In Goochland County, you can track the votes of each of the five Supervisor on their website.

For the first time in dozens of regular episodes, an episode of Charlottesville Community Engagement goes out in the morning!

Let's see if I can do it again tomorrow.
2
I also can't stress how useful good written minutes are. In a few minutes I can learn what an elected body talked about. Without this level of transparency, it is a lot harder to track what's going on.
Image is from Lunenburg's minutes from November.

But first, Fluvanna County is being briefed on the commercial kitchen in the community center. I previewed this in both of my newsletters.

I think it's crucial for local governments to get attention from the press. Heck, I have a whole business set up to do just that and people pay me!
Hooray to for picking up a thread in my Week Ahead this week.
They have a much higher profile than me.

I am watching the Fluvanna County Supervisors meeting for the very first time live.
While also recording Albemarle County Supervisors and listening for anything that came out of closed session. They just made announcements to Boards and Commissions.
All in a day's work.
