There is no border crisis. There is no illegal immigration crisis. There is no low-skilled immigration crisis. There is no Central American immigration crisis. There is no immigration crisis.

THREE HOURS until the Federal Election Commission deadline for campaign donations. We've raised about $60K per candidate. Now is the time to find and nag a friend!

Thread. Some thoughts from a white South African, directed at friends in the USA. I have been thinking about the Kennedy resignation, and what it looks like from here. I know that historical analogies are dangerous, but here goes.

Blessed be anarchist antifascist organizing. Despite a DHS raid, breakfast is still being served. Pancakes and eggs.

Year in which Bay Area cities reach their 2040 housing goals: — San Francisco: 2063 — San Jose: 2066 — Oakland: 2295 — Emeryville: 2211 — Richmond: 2458 — Concord: 2984 Concord will be *944 years* behind its housing deadline at current pace. Local control is a bad joke.

Some of you are new at long odds and unfair fights. Some of you are new at losing. Some of you are new at life as you know it going fundamentally off the rails. Listen to those of us who have lost and failed and died and survived: it isn't over for as long as you insist it isn't.

This is wild. All of us tech researchers are sitting here warning about the small, subtle ways algorithmic bias can support fascism — and meanwhile ICE has essentially created a button that prints “detain immigrant” when pressed

Tonight was our last Great Slate primary! Tech workers and fellow travelers raised $1.8M for eleven Congressional candidates in red districts, and tonight five of those candidates are the Democratic nominees. We have five chances to send a Republican home in November.

In 2014, Dem turnout was abysmal and Rs picked up 9 Senate seats. That gave them the votes to block Obama from replacing Scalia. Decisions like today's — and those that will follow if Trump replaces Kennedy with a Gorsuch-like conservative — are the result. Midterms matter.

Actually, I think a much better microcosm of why Trump won is how we learned last week that Trump is caging and torturing children, and the media's top focus one week later is whether liberals protesting it are being too rude.

DSA, which unapologetically calls for the abolition of ICE and demands free healthcare for all, just helped put a young Latinx woman in Congress. This movement is the best hope America has.

This is HUGE. It just got harder for the opioid, soda and alcohol industries to conceal their pay-offs for NIH and CDC "science." Thanks to for the opportunity and leadership, and for the loyal service.
