I can’t find your Patreon link, and I’m able to contribute a little. Could you post it please?

Patreon's hamfisted, clueless, and pointless grab proves again that Greed Kills Cool. All they had to do was leave it alone. But, in came Greed. I hope you all will be okay. I know you'll all find each other on another platform.
-
I wouldn't like it, but would be far less pissed, if they'd said "we can't afford to maintain the site and pay our employees, so we have to do this." Instead they fed us bullshit about how it's a win-win for everyone.

You can’t trust companies. Especially those who have VC funding. Stop looking for Big Bro to fund you.

I woke up to find this in my mentions. Gotta say, this kind of online condescension is a bad look. Please don’t do this to the ppl I RT.pic.twitter.com/dTGXxbFWND

Ahh you’re right. I was in a pretty low place and just lashing out in general. Forgot the internet wasn’t my own personal punching bag. I’ll work on myself and try to be better next time the nihilism sets in. Thanks for calling me out on it.
-
Thanks for being so cool about it and I’m sorry to hear you’re in a low place. You’ve always seemed pretty chill so I sorta guessed you were having tough moment, but we can never assume. Hope thing turn around soon.

Accepting fault for my failures was on of my New Year’s resolutions a few years back. Doing better at it than not biting my nails. It’s a little bit of everything, really. There’s so much bad shit and toxicity and I’m just so… permeable to it lately. Anyhow. Moment over.

I think it has been very, very poorly handled and an ill advised move. I support one podcast I wanted to succeed and now I’m stuck between supporting them and registering my displeasure with
@Patreon by stopping my $10 per month donation. -
Do you know if
@podbeancom is any better/fairer as an alternative service for primarily podcast based providers? -
-
Sorry for moaning in your direction Louie and thank you for the alternative which I can pass on to my podcast makers.
-
Don’t be silly!

Yup. I've already had confirmation from multiple users who are losing Patreons.
@PatreonSupportThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Maybe all the authors that lose pledges should send invoices to patreon for the dollar amounts lost, as well as time spent having to respond to patrons etc...
-
Lovely idea, but most creators will not have the time to track multiple small-amount transactions. Which was the reason for Patreon to begin with.
-
The invoice doesn’t need to be itemised- it would simply be a protest. Also, if the invoices were posted, someone would have to open them etc. This would cost patreon time and money.

By moving the fees onto the Patrons they thought they'd sneakily up their income. Greed will be their downfall. Shame on you
@Patreon. Also, what was wrong with the old way? -
It wasn’t enough for the investors is my guess.
-
It never is. There is a quest to increase profits continuously and every so often somebody gets too greedy/desperate to see past their own right hand.
