What‘s this? Now you could possibly sail up to the northernmost tip of Greenland.pic.twitter.com/Ql3xaWZM9M

Trade routes and new drilling areas are all that's on the minds of the oblivious-to-reality on their way to the bank.

True, and sadly one negative outcome of this thaw is loss of wildlife. Will our grandchildren be able to see polar bears in it's natural habitat?

... not if this trend is going to become normal or worst. - 1 more reply

We are measuring temperatures from 38°C to 42°C warmer than normal at the Geographic North Pole today, compared to the 1981-2010 mean average. Normal February: -32°C Normal March: -31°C We're glad this is only happening in the next 48 hours.

It seems that some models are simulating a same scenario at the northern part of the Canadian Archipelago next week?! Time will show. If it does, we'll lose a lot of MY-ice & the most essential volume buffer. More movement in Winter means potential rapid sea ice melt in Spring.pic.twitter.com/GjjidZX4P0

Warmer water in Arctic Ocean due to more exposure to solar energy in the summers hastens slows winter freezing and hastens spring melting.pic.twitter.com/f6D7l2eX8R

Really freakening: reduced sea-ice probably due to abnormal strong southerly winds/foehn effects...high temperatures are also produced by the wind. With weakening winds cold temperatures returned quickly to weather station. GFS anomalies are above arctic boundary layer!
