In case you need another infuriating bike lane cut to be angry about, the city deleted a vital stretch of the under-construction Colombian Way protected bike lane at the last second & kept it a secret from neighbors. Still no mention of the cut on the project website.

This is one of the only significant protected bike lanes Rainier Valley is set to receive for the rest of the Move Seattle Levy under the mayor’s slashed bike plan, and SDOT destroyed it without telling people. This is wrong.

Project website: seattle.gov/transportation It clearly shows complete bike lanes. No mention of sharrows, even in an update as recent as May 6.

Compare the level that the mayor and SDOT bent over backwards for wealthy people in Wedgwood to how they treat people in Rainier Valley and Beacon Hill.

The uphill bike lane ends about a half block before the intersection with Beacon.

WHAT IS THIS?? I AM SO ANGRY I CANNOT EVEN. It’s already a cluster with car traffic and I ride in the sidewalk for my own safety just to get through. WE NEED THIS PROTECTED BIKE LANE.

Westbound Columbian right after MLK is worse than before too. A two lane merge/sharrow where there used to be a paint only bike lane. You can still see the old paint just before the repaved section.

We drove through here recently; omg I hope it isn’t done yet. Headed east across Beacon, the right driving lane becomes a bike lane (without notice). Thank god there wasn’t anyone in the bike lane when we came across.
This was the email I received from the project team when I asked about the not-finished painting a few weeks ago.
