This is in addition to a $5M seed round last year from , , and .

Tl;dr: new proposed DoE standards seem to indicate efficiency numbers of ~43% for gas stoves, which is on the high end but not impossible to hit.

I interviewed at about the battery-powered stove and the future of battery-powered appliances. Sounds crazy? That's what I thought too... now my mind is changed.

Can't wait for when "a watched pot never boils" is one of those phrases with forgotten origins because everyone has induction and they watch their pots boil all the time.

The speed with which great things were built (747, Empire State Building, Golden Gate Bridge, Apollo landing) in the past is amazing.
What’s changed?

This is it! HCD will review Bay Area cities to see if they've zoned for new housing in wealthy areas. If a city fails, their zoning will be suspended and unlimited height & density at >20% affordable housing can be approved anywhere. Many are about to fail

I wish I had the stat at the tip of my tongue but it’s probably something like “the most recent 10% of homeowners pay 80% of the property tax” which is just insane. Can lower income tax if we fix property taxes in California.
Quote Tweet
The top 8% in CA pay 78% of the income tax. If we lose even 10% of that, it is not good for CA. We should want more successful folks here. Now is the wrong time for more taxes.

The gauge of the conduit to the rest of the building / street and the amperage of the main service panel will be persistent barriers to electrification unless we start deploying batteries right at the point of use.
