I’m sorry but that has nothing to do with the spiritual priesthood of Jesus Christ.
"works" was circumcision, Paul was preaching against circumcision in Romans and Ephesians and Galatians, He was not preaching against your need to stop sinning and live holy as that is the Gospel. Ac 26:20, 17:30 both statements by Paul.

You receive the Gift of God (Eternal Life) as soon as you stop trusting in yourself, your church, your synagogue, your mosque, your money, or any other works and put your trust in Him ALONE. False religions are everywhere; the one true God and His plan of salvation must be found.

Eternal life is one of the gifts given to those who labor with His
#spirit in this live. It is critical to know how to stop trusting in self. The "give it to God philosophy" offers no direction. Which makes it a give up on what you want philosophy. -
Eph2:8“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Eternal life is a GIFT from God. You can't earn it. If a person were required to do anything to have eternal life other than simply receive it, it wouldn't be a gift now would it?
