    I’m pretty sure there used to be some values-driven conservatives in the , but as is clear here, values claimed by the current stalwarts—“freedom,” “the soul of our nation,” etc.—make no sense until you accept that they’re all proxies for “white supremacy.”

    Every Democratic administration sees better economic performance, going back as far as we can measure (to the early 1930s), and yet the GOP manages to maintain ownership of the “better for the economy” brand.

    Many people don’t realize this, but because of historically strong economic growth & policy choices, the deficit last year actually fell. By $360bn. AND Maybe even more surprising, we're on track to see the federal deficit fall by >$1T this yr, the largest nominal decline ever.
