BBC News PR has told me that "we're looking into it." Source says that there is "no estimate" when the channel will be back on air.
BBC News Channel has now been showing 'recorded' footage for more than 30 minutes.
In case you are wondering what OpenMedia does: it is the software that BBC News uses - it manages the scripts, audio, tech and more. News Channel and World News use the new system, Radio 4 does not (yet).

An internal email says that the “OpenMedia fallback” was not successful and that although the channels are back, “there is difficulty creating new items.” Support teams are working on fixing it entirely.

Hearing that due to ongoing technical problems at New Broadcasting House, the BBC News at 6 will be instead broadcast from Millbank Studios in Westminster.
