Agreed on both counts. The officer's actions were heroic. Ok, i DO wish he'd whacked that guy in the Q shirt with his baton at LEAST once.
-
Pushing him backward down marble stairs would have been satisfying, too.

Words do not suffice. Literal hero. Sending him & his loved ones every ounce of goodwill possible.

I feel he would have been within his Policing Rights to shoot that Q Rioter who refused his orders. And chased him up the stairs...

From reading of it he may be THE reason there was not absolute carnage. Having a record of this is incredibly important. Deep gratitude to both of these people! I hope they get the full recognition they so deserve.

I understand that he also led the rioters away from the senators; crucially at the top of the stair he ensured they followed him away. You can see him make that decision.
-
Not all of the rioters followed him. The crowd was much thinner after all of his retreating.

He absolutely saved both the lives of protestors & legislators. *I am still wrestling with the shocking lack of support the Capitol Police had. But the restraint/strategy exhibited showed their commitment to protect U.S. citizens even at the officers' risk. Utterly humbling.
