A few weeks ago, I went to Marseille for @NYTmag to try to make heads or tails of hydroxychloroquine, and of the eminent French scientist behind its rise to fame. Then I came back, and wrote this.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/12/magazine/didier-raoult-hydroxychloroquine.html …

This was amazing work! Science is done by people, therefore science, like humans, can be flawed. Reproducibility and research design matters. It's unbelievable that he admits to not blinding or randomizing any of his studies.

Embarrassing. Wish this effort had been spent on someone who isn’t a fraud that pushed a harmful treatment. So many scientists are doing incredibly important, real work, but this guy gets the spread.

Unfortunately! The criticisms against this man are serious, and you've done nothing to explain to your audience, most of whom have not heard of this man, EXACTLY why his reputation is terrible.

I am genuinely curious: did you read the whole thing? To my eye those criticisms are in there, and are in there pretty prominently.

Wonderful article. Thank you. With the depth and breadth we all needed. Kudos for the choice of the photographer.😁
