I beg to differ. I had ugly charts when I was WolfOfPoloniex.... still made over 136K followers. The whole simplistic shit was a recent fad
If you want people to look at your charts and take you seriously, then clean them up and make them look good. Ugly and messy charts rarely deliver your message.

Definitely need a clean chart. As traders we encounter decision fatigue no need to over complicate things with a gazillion blinking lights and lines and shapes as well. I tend to use price action and volume profile exclusively.
