Just woke up from a nightmare.
Felt comfortable going back to movie theaters.
Binge watched three films in a row.
Ended the day with only 3 hours on my Apple Watch Stand ring.

Operations wise they probably could have done it with Macs years ago, but they also didn’t seem to be paying much attention to them for a long time…

Combining all those factors it seems like Apple can flex its color muscles now because it developed that ability over years. I think it has nothing to do with Johnny leaving and folks just going crazy with color.

Eventually when it came time to make Apple Watch operations had to become really great at dealing with tons of SKUs.

Clearly his tastes evolved away from plastic toward glass and aluminum as time went on, and it for sure seems like anodizing vibrant colors at scale is an art Apple has perfected over time.

They took a chance on color with iPhone 5C, but it was never the flagship device designed to sell in massive quantities.

Remember, Johnny designed the original iMacs, which came in tons of crazy colors, and patterns even #bluedalmation …and think back to iPods, especially the mini + nano lines — tons of vibrant colors.

Remember the year they added a white variant and it shipped almost one year late.

Apple became the iPhone company, and iPhone could just never be produced in so many SKUs in the earlier years.

That’s not a slight on operations at all, they were literally trying scale one of the most complicated devices ever made to millions of additional devices every year.

Everyone keeps speculating all the iMac colors are because Johnny is gone. I instead imagine he wanted colorful devices all along, operations just couldn’t make it happen.

I can’t handle the irony that UPS lost my AirTags prior to delivering them…

Next Apple TV box is called HomePod, removing confusion with the TV app and Apple TV+ service. A new larger HomePod with a screen is released. tvOS becomes homeOS and powers all in-home devices.
Alternate universe; Apple builds infrastructure to charge $5 to upgrade movies to 4K quality, would they expose that upgrade pricing functionality to apps?
With a name like HBO Max, you’d think it would include more than standard HBO, including, you know, the ability to watch what’s currently playing on HBO as it’s happening. #LastWeekTonight

Apple sure is getting good at the whole e-commerce thing. iPhone 12 Pro Max ordered with 2 taps at 7:01 am

Ever since updating to the watchOS 7 beta I'm getting a push notification from eero daily that a "new device has joined my network" — it's always my Apple Watch, but with a different MAC address every day

So, who’s going to make (or already has made) the “spacer” widget that helps me put icons near the bottom of the screen so I can reach them more easily?

Also, would be interesting if the eventual AirTag product could act as an “App Clip Transmitter” …basically a dynamic reprogrammable NFC tag.

Anyone know yet if it’s possible for app clip codes/NFC to include some extra metadata? Thinking every table at a restaurant could have a unique clip including the table number… Would be cool for tableside menu ordering experiences, especially in present times.

Hypothetical; If Apple introduced a new “hosted” app type, essentially a free app, but with App Store costs paid by the developer instead of subsidized by potential IAP, would developers opt into it? How much would they charge? $1 per install, and updates based on download size?

Not saying this is a good analogy, I was just failing to try and explain it to someone and realized the way it works by logging locally on your device device isn’t really easy for some folks to understand, and that’s before you even get to the random identifiers.

Does anyone have a good analogy yet for exposure notification? It’s like you’ve got a photographic memory, and for 14 days health officials can say the person wearing teal sneakers had COVID, and in your head you’d know immediately if you saw them or not, and need to get tested…

Ironically appropriate that this email from developer relations about masking the Wi-Fi network name in iOS 13 would address me as “$firstName”
