How many SEOs can say to a client "we believe we've created the best page on the web about this topic". Serious question.

Hi @JohnMu, Question! 1000s of http://blogger.com  subdomains started to link to a client recently with "guest post" style content. Looks like a link network. My recommendation is do nothing, G will handle it. Is this a fair assessment?

I really love @semrush, but the discrepancy between real SERPs and these reported rankings is growing larger by the day it seems. I cringe when I think of someone reporting that ranking to a client, only to have them check and not be found. GSC is my best friend :)

Do any SEOs have advise on handling out of stock seasonal products. My hunch is to redirect the URL by default back to the main category page, but which type of redirect? If the URL comes back in season, what is best practice here?

I'm curious how the number of products offered on a given ecomm category page impacts said category URLs' rankings. If all other signals are equal (almost never, I know), would the page with more products specific to the theme get the edge?

Ex: "X tool says we rank Y for this query" ~client googles query~ "I'm not seeing it here but maybe it's not updated yet" Just use GSC and get clients aligned with that, it really helps avoid these things.

When I see the chatter about sites getting "hit" by an algorithm update, I always wonder how often third-party rank tracker data leads to misinformed decisions or impulsive changes. TBH, I don't think the results served to these tools are reflective of real-world searchers.

I like algorithm updates a lot. I find that if you’ve been doing the right things and keeping it honest, they are very rewarding. “~famous last words~” for an SEO, but I really feel this way.

Hi @JohnMu! If initial html response to GB contains meta noindex, nofollow, but the rendered HTML in GSC contains no directives, the site doesn't have ranking /indexing issues, is it worth removing the meta noindex from our server response? Is this typical Gb behavior? Thanks :)

When I see “negative SEO” tactics towards one of my clients, it lets me know we’re doing something right. Such a shame to waste resources on something that doesn’t work.

@JohnMu this is to educate teams and clients on what might happen, my advice is do not use the tool for that purpose period, and let things canonicalize via redirects and other methods.
