Found it sad to hear about Facebook Articles. Mostly because websites CAN render incredibly fast, yet most sites neglect to prioritize that.

Some of the best news websites take over a minute to *render* on 3G, for absolutely no good reason at all. There’s just no excuse for that.
So yeah, I think any criticism of the web’s terrible performance is totally valid. We can choose to do better, but our focus is elsewhere.

If your site takes more than 1-2 secs to be usable on wifi, or more than a 3 secs on 3G, it’s too slow. Happy to share links re: how to fix.
