Struggling to understand “grim” in the context of >15k flu deaths this season in US alone, and very likely more in China. What words do we reserve for the 250k traffic deaths, or 1.5 million tobacco-related deaths, annually in China?

And that's just what the government is telling you. The actual numbers are far worse as is the death total with some reports of over 100 a day. And the bodies have to be burned. So sayeth the videos coming out of the epicenter.

The trend is slowing. It's not exponential. Past 4 days we have seen 16%-28% growth in confirmed cases. Previously was up to 60%. that COULD be a hard limit due to manpower, but even if we add the "suspected" figure from the above linked site it's STILL not exponential.
