Brad Bird. He was my original Ep. VII pick. He's like J.J. Abrams without the nostalgia fetish.
-
I don't think you saw Tomorrowland then
-
JJ Abrams build his movies on simple and primitive nostalgia, Brad Bird uses it as a pretext that drive his movies
-
Fair point
-
In my defense I haven't seen Tomorrowland in 2 years and can only remember the weird comic shop scene with all the Star Wars memorabilia.
-
It's clearly not the best scene but it fits pretty well to the intentions and the meaning of the movie
-
Like the movie talks about the regrets and the ruins of an old utopia and everything we have left is a bunch of Star Wars toys
-
I mean with that shit Lindeloff wrote how else can you salvage the film? Brad Bird's SW would be a dream come true & he has my vote
