Since May this year, the team have packed over 35,000 objects into around 4,000 reusable boxes!

Some objects need special padding. These aeroplane models are still a work in progress but you can see their wings and noses are all wrapped up as these parts are the most fragile ✈

Some larger objects like this model need to be strapped down to stop them from moving around in transit.

These microscopes beautifully tied in ribbon look like they belong under the Christmas tree! They're currently in the packing area ready to be wrapped up. We're about to find out how...

Team member David has found a selection of microscopes of the right size to fit the box. And so it begins...

The objects are all of varying shapes and sizes so need to be arranged efficiently into the box. These beauties are all different parts of microscopes collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/search/images/

Next up, the box is filled with extra padding made up of sheets of acid free tissue paper carefully placed around the objects to protect them.
