"Resource adequacy is not capacity"
Professor Jacob Mays (@jacob_mays) gets to the heart of the conversation in the first 9 seconds of the episode. The discussion between Prof Mays, Dr. Ahlmahz Negash, and Matt Schroettnig (@schroettnig) is available now.
My daughter likes pepperoni pizza, but does not like pepperoni. Meaning dinner turns into her handing me every single one of her pepperonis to eat, piecemeal.
And thanking me every time.
This may be the best day of my life.
I'm gonna do more coverage of this later, but for now: this is huge.
The clever innovation here is to embed a battery in the stove, which allows for higher power delivery at the point of use but lower power demand overall.
This will end the "gas vs. induction" debate. Period.
We’ve raised a $20M Series A from @Lux_Capital@fifthwallvc@lachygroom@constructcap and many others to accelerate decarbonization in the home.
This is in addition to a $5M seed round last year from @Lux_Capital, @constructcap, and @lachygroom.

Wherein the author berates those working to make a difference citing “human nature” while asserting market forces, and not the state, will overcome… seemingly oblivious to the fact that the state dictates the parameters in which the “market” operates. 🤷♂️
Unbelievable. The House Republican leader says the GOP will end military and financial aid to Ukraine if they take back the House, delivering a giant gift to Putin. The Republicans will walk away from the defense of democracy and freedom. Vote accordingly. twitter.com/JoshKraushaar/…
There comes a point in every law student’s or lawyer’s career when they can spot the difference between an unitalicized and italicized period, and that’s a real turning point.

🚨BRO🚨
It has come to my attention that some well-meaning bros think shifting to #Ammonia fuel for shipping is a good idea for decarbonization. After all, #Ammonia = NH3 is a zero-carbon fuel, right?
NO, BRO, THIS IS A BAD IDEA.
Let me dumb this down for
This isn’t mentioned enough. You CAN have it all… just not at the same time. And we can’t take care of anyone else if we aren’t taking care of ourselves.
Someone asked me recently: How do you keep up with teaching, scholarship, and family/life responsibilities without staying up until 4AM on weekdays just getting it all done?
The answer is: You don’t. No one does it all. You do the best you can, and trust that that’s enough.
Cards Against Humanity is donating 100% of their profits to the National Network of Abortion Funds if the order comes from a state restricting abortion access.
If someone selects “I didn’t agree to this” an additional $5 donation is added to their cart.
If you're one of those weirdos who just can't get enough policy talk about the IRA, jump into the first of two deep dives I did with @JesseJenkins. The second goes up tomorrow. https://volts.wtf/p/diving-further-into-the-inflation#details…

Giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices. Ensuring wealthy corporations pay their fair share in taxes.
And taking the biggest step forward on climate in our history.

This is a sign of unity from Democrats ahead of the final vote on the IRA, but it’s also a preview of a confusing parliamentary process that’s going to happen later today or tonight. A brief explanation: twitter.com/brianschatz/st…
The Bloomberg editorial board is correct here:
The subsidies for US-based computer chip manufacturing are not going to be effective without more STEM immigration.
This is Exhibit A of a much broader problem:
Superstar talent wants to live and work in the United States, but our immigration system won't let them. twitter.com/bradchattergoo…
Our terrible immigration system nearly deported Katalin Karikó, which would have robbed the world of her breakthrough mRNA research.
We need to make it much easier for the next generation of talented people to immigrate to the US and live without the fear of being deported.
Direct payment of credits is only available for non-taxable government and nonprofit entities like public utilities. Exception is for hydrogen, CCS and advanced manufacturing credits, for which direct pay available to taxable entities but only for 5 years of the available credit.
