Teenagers have been on the front lines of the George Floyd protests. They've been choked by gas, hit by rubber bullets, and knocked down by officers’ shields. But they have continued to come back. Here are some of their stories.https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2020/06/05/teens-protests-george-floyd-tear-gas/ …

On Sunday, Aly Conyers, 17, choked on chemical gas in front of the White House. On Monday, she ran as federal officers fired rubber bullets to clear Lafayette Square. And on Thursday, she led a crowd of more than a thousand people at the MLK Jr. Memorial in a moment of silence.

Chris Owusu, 17, was blind sided by tear gas outside the 3rd Precinct in Minneapolis. When his friend was hit in the face with a rubber bullet, he drove her to the hospital. “I will have one hell of a college essay to write,” Owusu said.

Roberto Rivera, 14, wore a gas mask in front of the White House. The image of officers in riot gear is now seared in his memory, changing his view of police and military officers. “I don’t feel as safe near them anymore,” he said.

“Wear eye protection” is a standard recommendation for protester safety. Unfortunately if cops shoot rubber bullets right at your head it doesn’t always work.

Wtf, did you just use this as reason to say “these damn kids”? You are the one who needs to be educated and I recommend your first course should be in empathy.
