    I was a baby in Milwaukee at the time so I’m going to declare that I met David Bowie.

    50 years ago, in Bowie's first visit to the US: he goes to Milwaukee. That's all we know. No photos, no surviving radio interviews, no articles, no recordings. David Bowie walking around Milwaukee on Monday, Feb. 8, 1971 is a completely blank square for you to fill in.

    It's incredible that we have to work so hard doing manual opt-outs to make email useable. And I know there are mail tools and apps that help with this, but they still take time to set up if you use multiple devices & platforms they don't quite work.

    Great thread on SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, one of Jonathan Demme's masterpieces (though not my favorite of his films), and specifically how even good intentions can be not enough.

    I see there is Silence of the Lambs discourse among the transes. I love that movie. Jonathan Demme is maybe my favorite American director of all time. I do not believe SotL is transphobic (especially for its era); I do believe it propped up transphobia, if that makes sense.
