Wikipedia is mostly maintained by a relatively small number of editors. Its process is so hermetic and at times aggressive that it drives off new editors. It’s so large that partisans and hacks can made changes nobody notices. But, sure, treat it as authoritative.

Rewatching STAR WARS (yeah, yeah, A NEW HOPE) with my 7-year-old and remembering that Han Solo has always been the part of the movies that clicked most strongly with me. One of the reasons I'm indifferent to the prequels even at their strongest.

I confess that I don't really like 2001 all that much, but I also return to it every 10 years or so because it's fascinating. Every time I'm optimistic that that'll be the time that it really clicks for me.

In the last few months, many people have reached out to me about their game projects asking 'Is what we're doing cultural appropriation?' This is great! It shows that they care, I don't mind answering, but for the help of everyone here I thought I'd sum it up in a small thread.

Long shot: any Tamil font experts who could help a charity in India that can no longer seemingly type Tamil into Word (v16.0) on a Mac? I can hand you off to them if you have expertise.

Enjoyed A.J. Finn's THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW quite a bit, but boy does he want you to know that he did his homework. You've seen more noir than I have. Noted.

And you're not likely to make great art if you approach projects like marketing assignments.

You're not likely to be an effective designer or marketer if you approach projects like they're vehicles for your artistic vision. (Lord knows I tried, earlier in my career.)

The content requirements for building effective products or producing effective marketing are entirely different from making art. It's a problem in both directions.
