Grant repeatedly harassed Llama to the point where she sought a restraining order. She took him to court, and after several years of protracted legal proceedings, the court found that Grant did indeed harass and defame her. He bullied her, harassed her, and he ended her job.

When Llama took legal action against Grant, he was supported by many senior talents in the space. This is the boys club. These are the gatekeepers. This is why we are only ever getting excited about one women casting Dota at a time. The space is toxic.

I have been told by many, many people that “Grant has changed”. We are given vague references to his “having been bad” & “having reformed”. This narrative spits in the face of the true scale of the harm he has caused. Why has he never publicly owned his actions?

Maybe he didn’t want to talk while court proceedings were ongoing, but those finished months ago. What’s more, this was never an isolated incident. There were many other complaints of this nature about Grant in the past. And how many people do you think didn’t complain?

I got permission from Llama to tweet about this. She supports this information coming out, but did not feel comfortable putting it out herself. Despite the years, the distance, the relative safety she has found. Years later. Please do not tag her in your discussions.

Grant harassed someone all the way out of Dota 2, while ascending the ranks himself. Why does the harassed woman have to leave? Why does the harasser get to stay? If we really care about fixing our industry, we need to be asking these questions.

We can’t keep accepting off-handed apologies for vague played-down offences. If Grant really has tried to reform, why has he not confronted the harm he’s caused? And why are there still more people forthcoming (anonymously, as of yet), making similar complaints?

The fact almost everything he’s done has been VERY public and he was almost completely supported throughout the entire thing including the harassment itself
. He’s gotta do way more than just “Sorry, I changed”.Thanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
