I am also currently available at jscalzi on instagram and tumblr, and as "Scalzi" on facebook and flickr and ello and mastodon. But, again, I was on my own site long before any of these existed, and will be on my own site when all these (and Twitter!) are digital dust.

This is where I again strongly encourage everyone who does any sort of creative thing - writing, music, art, etc - to make and maintain their own site. This era of social media is ending (or at least, likely changing radically). Get your own space, so people can always find you.

I'm super curious if RSS is going to make a comeback when /if people realize that it's totally curated by the user. I miss Google Reader so much. My feed was EXACTLY what I wanted to see, and if one site went down, didn't make it, whatever, it didn't impact the overall feed.

I'm not *quite* ready to quit the bird site, but I'm laying the groundwork. One step was creating a bookmarks folder called "From Twitter." Whatever is one of the first sites that got saved there.
