So you acknowledge that the "Venezuela" comment is a straw man argument because the proper comparison would be places like Canada and Europe, where the middle class hasn't been entirely gutted, and you now want to call 78% of Americans deadbeats?https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2019/01/11/live-paycheck-to-paycheck-government-shutdown/#7b1f95f14f10 …
If you're living in your mom's house and the money is for weed and video games, it's enough for these losers. When you're an actual grown up, you don't need a hand-out.

Sure, but those "losers" would be living in their mom's basement anyhow. At least now they would be putting that $1,000/back into the local economy. And again, ~80% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. This isn't just something that "losers" experience.

I'd rather get $12,000 in tax relief each year. Then I can spend my own money, instead of waiting for a re-branded welfare check. Those living paycheck to paycheck are likely making bad life choices and $12k/yr won't fix that. Some people will always out-spend their means.
