This is why we need UBI. So people like Andrew don't have to grift for patreon dollars in granny-scammer fashion.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TYouR1adAw …

Patreon is a voluntary solution for patrons to support creators they appreciate. UBI is the government stealing money to pay losers to live in their mom's basement, playing video games and contributing nothing. They're not the same.

That last sentence is correct. UBI is a dividend payout for every American, and a good idea given that right economics has funneled all the economic gains to the top and gutted the middle/lower class. Patreon is a windfall for grifters like DRW.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGBzpLHbZ8g …

I know how redistribution systems work. It's all fun & games until the wealthy flee, the economy collapses & you're eating your pets & zoo animals because the food ran out. Ask the Venezuelans how that worked. The upside to our economy is you can be a billionaire too!

Then you know the wealth has been redistributed upwards over the last 40 years and that the wealthy and corporations are taxed at record lows. Also, that "Venezuela" is a straw man argument that ignores actual policy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfDTqMLJRz0 …

Wealth goes where it's spent. Nobody has done anything wrong if a company offers a product for sale and someone voluntarily buys it. Why then steal from the honest business to give money to deadbeats?

So you acknowledge that the "Venezuela" comment is a straw man argument because the proper comparison would be places like Canada and Europe, where the middle class hasn't been entirely gutted, and you now want to call 78% of Americans deadbeats?https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2019/01/11/live-paycheck-to-paycheck-government-shutdown/#7b1f95f14f10 …

Venezuela is a perfectly viable comparison. Canada tried UBI & pulled the plug because it was too expensive & didn't work. Europe is sliding into a recession & many of the countries are choking on the cost of their welfare politics and improper immigration policies.

Venezuela is a developing nation that suffers from colonialism. The correct comparison is other advanced OECD countries, all of whom have stronger middle classes, longer lifespans, higher literacy/numeracy rates, lower infant mortality, etc. Their "problems" are dwarfed by ourspic.twitter.com/LjF3eMNubi

Developing? Hahaha! They were the most developed South American nation economically and have the largest oil reserves in the world. They provided free education, healthcare, etc. By all Democrat policies, it was paradise, until the bottom fell out.

All of that wealth just went to transnational corporations. The "socialist" policies came after and actually reduced poverty from where it was at the time. For the record, these are the sorts of regimes you can expect when you let income inequality get out of hand.
