I'm convinced the only reason ebola has taken this long to cure is because it's a disease that hasn't affected white folks because not a lot of white folks live in the areas affected by ebola.

To be clear, that 6% is essentially when treatment begins very quickly after first symptoms appear. Ebola kills quickly, with many people dying within a week of initial symptoms and a lot of the victims are in remote areas. This outbreak has killed ~65% of people it has infected.

Exactly! Absolutely groundbreaking trial results, so much to be hopeful for long term, but a severe lack of understanding of what it presently offers to the present Ebola landscape.
. I felt Wired’s reporting was irresponsible... naive at best, reckless at worst.
