The only NYPD body camera footage released to date has been edited & packaged propaganda used to exonerate cops after bad acts. Body cams are a multi-million dollar (taxpayer funded) effort to eliminate transparency & public accountability of NYPD, sold as “police reform.”

we also probably agree that more work is needed to change police policy around corruption. Is your solution to these problems that we should remove body cams? Do you think the public would be better off if they were not being used?
The reforms that have been passed are half-measures that make rich people richer and placate the public. It's time for the funding to go to the people hardest hit by brutal policing, and it's time for the policy to be dictated by them.
