Your suggestion seems to be that the teacher do other things but also, at the same time, keep quiet. How can you say I'm ignoring solutions when I've been having this conversation and thinking about this?

I saw that. I have thought about it. I don't know why you insist on assuming I didn't and haven't. It could also cost a teacher her job if anyone found out she knew about crimes and didn't report it. This is a dilemma. It's not a clear-cut thing.

That being said, I am glad I work with preschoolers and not the kind of students I'd have to worry about having told me these kinds of things. And that's where I am going to leave it.

You don't think preschoolers are exposed to crime and violence? And you're really committed to framing this situation in terms of how ot affects your career, your moral compass, your feelings. It's really a shame. I have a lot of respect for educators, we can do better!
