The law may not dictate all morality, but it is not moral to see wrongdoing done and say nothing. I can't live by that code.
You can do something instead of calling the cops and asking them to take care of it for you. All power to the people.

You can do something else, but a lot of people would have to do serious moral wrestling with not contacting police if they knew a crime had been committed. That's what I'm saying.

Do I understand why police are mistrusted? You bet. Do I think what Trump is doing is immoral? You bet. But that doesn't change the fact that if someone told me about crimes they knew of, I'd have a tough time deciding what to do about it. That's all.
