In an effort to get out of MS-13, a teenager wrote a confession to his teacher, who gave it to the school resource officer, who gave it to the FBI, who gave it to ICE, who is sending him back to El Salvador... to die at the hands of MS-13. There are lots of things a teacher can do to support a student in thus case that doesn't involve snitching. You don't know? Former gang members make the best community organizers, and the best mentors.
