NEW: @RepDanDonovan speaks out on allegations he used his influence to help partner’s son out of drug arrest. Calls them absolutely false. Says he was in DC during arrest. Demanding his opponent, @RealMGrimm, say whether or not he is the source behind the ethics inquiry.pic.twitter.com/DH6r7bAis2

Or he knows whoever his democratic challenger is won’t stoop as low as Grimm to use this to go after him (they have platforms instead)

Eh I dunno. Arresting people for small amount of drugs is wrong. Some laws are punitive. Addiction is an illness; they need help not a record. If I had pull I’d probably use it too. But there’s no evidence Donovan did.

Agree w/ you on all of these points. We are fine with going after Donovan on his hypocrisy on drugs laws. Just not dragging his stepson in

Exactly. They way to stand up on this issue is to call for an end to the war on drugs, an end to broken windows policing, healthcare for addicts and restorative justice programs for violent crimes. Not special treatment for cops and elected officials while everyone else rots.
