I've always been suspicious of electoral politics within DSA, but a minimum standard I've accepted is that a candidate must run as a socialist. Cynthia Nixon is someone I will be voting for because fuck Cuomo. However she is not a socialist. She shouldn't get DSA's endorsement.
We have so many great orgs in our city already running progressive electoral campaigns. It's extremely good for DSA members to get involved where they see fit, and spread our good socialist message there while they're at it. No?
