Our district has a very low rate of use of preventive medicine. These medical care events are a way to get people in the district to get their health care somewhere they trust. Even with the
#NYHealthAct we will still need outreach to the community to use medical services.
Not debating the need for public education and preventive care. But Felder is paid by the public to legislate, not to run a clinic. He has the option of improving healthcare for everyone but continues clinic theater instead. It's not ok.

He sees the health events as constituent services, which may not be the best use of resources, but are certainly within a politician's purview. What's not okay is him not pushing for single-payer healthcare and wider ranging programs to encourage use of preventive care.

Exactly. Between healthcare and housing costs, Felder's constituents are in crisis. These aren't left-right issues, they are top-down issues that he had a chance to lead on and he blew it. Services are a band-aid, it's time to LEAD
